Acerca de

Originally from Leicestershire, Gwyn has spent most of her life in North Wales and currently lives on Anglesey. An unexpected diagnosis of serious illness in 2015 prompted her to return to art after a prolonged break during which she had pursued a career in music. This revived interest in art quickly proved to be more than just a coping mechanism. From early beginnings in wildlife portraiture her art journey has transported her to a place where she can finally express herself freely and invest more of her own emotions in her painting. Art has proved to be the vital key to her own mental well being as she navigates a life constrained by painful illness.

Gwyn’s art is driven by a lifelong passion for the natural environment. She draws inspiration from the wild places, and her predilection for landscapes untainted by human interference is very evident. A recurring theme is that of trees. Trees are possessed of the enviable ability to survive even in the most adverse of conditions, often thriving against all odds, which in some sense mirrors Gwyn’s own life.
Her hope is that through her paintings others will be able to experience some of those primal emotions she experiences when she feels at one with herself, her art and her environment.
